AN AFRICAN SWAZI TRIBAL COW-HIDE WAR SHIELD, circa early 20th Century, of standard circular form, black and white with raw leather reverse and loops, supported by black painted wooden reproduction stave and cross-stave, losses to the hair on the front of the shield commensurate with age and one cross-stave loop missing, approx. 26in diameter, overall length 43in.
